Bamboo Desk Transformation

Thanks so much to all of our new followers!
My friend, Betsy, from Coastal Colors referred us on her site, and I am extremely appreciative!  Thank you, Betsy, for sending others our way!
Being new is exciting… especially when I see a new follower!
The other day I promised to show you the desk in the Lamp Redo post.
Well, here goes…
This was my first attempt at trying chalk paint.
I haven’t posted this yet, because, you know… this was my first piece!
I have learned a lot since then, like… you really don’t have to prime if you are using ASCP!  Duh!  That is the beauty of this paint.
Okay, so I learn the hard way sometimes.
There is my paint sitting on my ‘primed’ desk. (sigh)

Here I am painting the desk with Versailles.
It is a pretty yellow/green with a little distressing and wax finish,
I think it is rather nice.

This was a desk I have had for years.  It was still in great condition, just a little
outdated finish.  It has nice bamboo details, even on the hardware.

Here is the drawer before painting.

And here is the after…  I did paint the hardware to give it a
more aged and matte look.

The chair was covered with a coffee burlap sack.
I will share that with you soon too!

Here is the before picture.

The after…

This piece was primed, painted with ASCP ‘Versailles’, waxed with clear and followed
with dark wax.

My first attempt…

I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
Chair details coming soon…

Thanks so much for stopping by!

LOVE what you did, especially the lamp, and I am super jealous that you get to work with the wonderful Annie Sloan products… We have no supplier in Australia at the moment, though I did contact Annie yesterday and she told me they are working on it and hope to have a factory up & running here soon! (now for the long wait!!! Lol)

Thank you SO much for stopping by my blog at – and I love that you are a huge fan of Kelli’s too from Restore Interiors… How could you NOT be?!?!

Look forward to sharing this new found passion with you! Smiles & Happiness, Haylie xox
