This is the closest thing to MAGIC!
I was shopping at an estate sale a couple of weeks ago.
(Spent way too much money, but anyway…)
I noticed a coffee table I had to have.
When I worked for Shelley and Gary at Baker Court Interiors, they would always take a trip to Europe to find amazing pieces for their clients. I always dreamed of owning one of those unique pieces.
Well, I found it, and this time it was in my price range, and I didn’t have to travel to Europe to find it! Although, traveling to Europe would be nice too.
Water rings all over it!
My first thought was, how could you put glasses on this table?
The condensation destroys beautiful wood!
Soooo… I was the first at this estate sale and thought, if I don’t buy it someone else will. If I can’t get out the table full of rings, I will paint it etc…
After a little research,
I was able to get every water ring out of the surface of this table.
Here is what I did…
Here is the before… I only took pictures of the rings, I wish I would have taken a picture of the whole table, they were everywhere.
I know, seems too hard to believe!
I ironed and kept moving the iron in fear of burning the wood. After awhile, I was holding it over the rings for 20 seconds or so. Then peeled off the cotton towel, and like magic, the ring was gone!
Here is the after picture…
There is one mark I couldn’t remove, it’s dark, so I think it must be a previous burn mark. I will have to keep working on that one.
With a little stain to unify the look, this baby will be as good as new!
A little elbow grease and look at it!
I love when things work out. It was super easy too!
*Disclaimer – this worked for me, not sure how it will work with different kinds of wood or what kind of damage may occur. If you try this at home, please use caution and follow at your own risk.*
