A Creative Christmas – The Easy Way

This Christmas is going to be a little different…

With a new house,

boxes that need unpacking in several rooms,

painted spaces far from what I’d choose,

and a mess here and there.

Different as it’s not going to be a home tour Christmas like last year,

Welcome

but…

it will be “full” of Christmas.

I want splashes of the season to fill our unfinished house.

Splashes that remind us (me) that this home will always be a canvas – a continuing project.

Christmas deserves the lights and celebration.

It doesn’t matter what the canvas looks like.

With my limited time, I needed to create a new and fresh look quickly.

Something that was easy to do

with a beautiful end product.

I’ve found it,

and now…

it’s turned into a bit of an addiction.

The addiction is Jennifer Rizzo’s Creative Christmas Stencils by Royal Design Studio.

Easy?

Yep!

Time consuming?

Nope!

(The stenciling is the easy part, of course you can elaborate your projects which could be more time consuming)

Beautiful end product?

Yep – I’m happy!

Do you want a peek?

Okay, let’s go...

Christmas Chalkboard Stenciled Wreath

I wanted a simple decorated wreath,

using the Classic Letter Christmas Stencils I created a Joyeux Noel wreath

with chalkboard discs.

Under the wreath plaid pillows flank a faux fur reindeer pillow.

Reindeer decor, in my opinion, has to be part of the holiday decor.

Using the Reindeer Christmas Stencil

helped to achieve the look I was going for.

I envisioned something light, fluffy, and fun.

It gives this room Christmas cheer.

Don’t you think?

Notice the tree,

using the Classic Letter Christmas Stencil again, I created mirrored letters.

Glittered Mirror Letters

They can be used on the tree, garland, as monogrammed gift tags, or for dressing up a table.

The mirrors reflect the Christmas lights at night and create a beautiful glow.

Lastly,

a pop of red on the bed definitely sets the Christmas mood in my son’s room.

Using the Holiday Garland Christmas Stencil

Jennifer Rizzo Christmas Stencils with Royal Design Studio

paired with the Classic Letter Stencil makes the perfect combination for a holiday pillow.

I am thrilled with the end result and am glad to add a little Creative Christmas Cheer

throughout the house.

This is just the beginning of what could be created with the holiday stencils.

Head over to Royal Design Studios and check out

Jennifer Rizzo’s Collection of Christmas Stencils.

I would love to hear what you would choose and what you would create.

In the meantime,

Enjoy.

This is just the beginning…

DIY Creative Christmas Slipcovered Grey

Joyeux Noel Wreath

Christmas Wreath1.  3″ wooden discs

2.  Paint with Chalkboard Paint

3.  Tape the Classic Letter Stencil to a surface – I used cardboard

4.  Insert disc and use Chalk to fill in the stencil

5.  Spray discs with a matte finish protector coat

6.  Place discs on wreath

Reindeer Stenciled Fur Pillow

Fur Reindeer Pillow1.  Tape fabric on color safe surface – I used cardboard

2.  Tape Reindeer Stencil to fabric – I used tape to shorten the reindeer to fit on the pillow

3.  Paint fabric using fabric paint

After the reindeer was painted and dry, I sewed a seam around the perimeter and frayed the fabric on the edges to incorporate the fur with a soft line.  It was then sewn onto the pillow.

The end result made sewing fur so worth it!  (If you’ve sewn fur, you know what I’m talking about)

Mirrored Letter Ornaments

Jennifer Rizzo Stencil Holiday Collection

1.  3″ Square mirrors

2.  Tape the Classic Letter Stencil to a surface – I used cardboard

3.  Insert mirror

4./5.  Use glitter paint to fill in stencil

(The glitter paint may not cover completely, but once dry and glimmering in the light, looks great)

6.  Use the square mirror how you wish.  Using hot glue, I added ribbon to the back of mine for versatility.

Garland “Noel” Pillow

Jennifer Rizzo Collection StencilsNot pictured – tape fabric to color safe surface.  I used cardboard.

Measure to determine where to place Garland Stencil.  Using white fabric paint stencil on to fabric.

1.  Once garland is dry, place a piece of tape where you would like the lettering.

This helps to have a perfectly straight “NOEL”

2.  Tape the stencil above the line and stencil with fabric paint.

3.  Sew together.
