Happy New Year

Happy New Year friends!

Time, where has it gone? Looking back on this past year, it seems to have flown by so fast I couldn’t catch my breath. So much has changed in a good way for me personally, so I can only be hopeful for what lies ahead.

Joe and I celebrated with friends at a 1920’s party to roll in 2020! Luckily I have some hats and a dress from my grandma dating back to the 20’s. It’s just a reminder of time and how fast it goes.

It also makes me thankful that my mom held on to my grandparents’ keepsakes and gave them to me at an age when I could truly appreciate them. These clothes are over 100 years old – still hard to believe.  Joe was all decked out wearing this centuries attire, however, we thought a boa added a little something to his outfit.

So…  what did I learn this past year?

Getting Personal – My Prince Charming

Today I am going to get personal

and share with you something (someone) dear to my heart.

I think it’s every girl’s fantasy to walk down the aisle with prince charming.

To glance in his eyes and just know.  Know he’s the one.  He’s it.

My prince charming walked into my life and I knew it.

From that moment there was no turning back.

Today I celebrate the day when my fantasy became a reality.

His name is Joe.

He’s my everything.

He’s always there to wipe a tear,

hold a hand,

and be a friend.

On this day, our family and friends reserved a day out of their lives

to celebrate with us.

I am thankful they were there to share this day.

My only wish would be that each and every one could still be with us on earth.

We had a video made of our special day and

many of the guests were asked what advice they would give to us as a married couple.

My grandparents,

both filmed at separate times,

“Never go to bed angry.”

We always wondered their secret for success,

and always remember that advice.

Every year is a blessing and more time I get to be with the man that I fell in love with so many years ago.

To witness him be an incredible dad who loves his kids with his whole being.

A man that inspires me each and every day,

and goes out of his way to make others happy.

That’s my Joey.

I sang a little song as a surprise

to let him know how much he means to me.

In the beginning I almost lost it,

but made it through.

Every. Single. Moment.

Happy Anniversary Joe!

Here’s to many more fabulous years to come!
